Summer Recommendations – The Gospel and Grace

Over the summer (read August) we’re focusing in on some helpful resources, books and apps, that help with the particular topics we’re dealing with. Each week as we look at a different aspect of discipleship, we’ll recommend 2 books (one big, one small) and two apps that we think would be helpful.

The books will be available to buy on a Sunday morning (although stock will be limited) with a special price each week for people who decide to buy both. Each week there’ll be one ‘big book’ (around £7-£9) and one smaller book (around £2-£4). When they are gone, they are gone. But you’ll always be able to get them online via our bookshop.

This week then?

OneLife – for Android & iOS (free):

One Life. What’s it all about? Explore Christianity and think through what life’s all about in your own way.” This app allows you to download videos of people answering tough questions and clips from a wide variety of people who’ve come to know and love Jesus for themselves. It’s made by the same people who produce the Christianity Explored course that we know and love.

What’s So Amazing About Grace? – Philip Yancey (£8.50):

Grace is the church’s great distinctive. It’s the one thing the world cannot duplicate, and the one thing it craves above all else – for only grace can bring hope and transformation to a jaded world.

This book has been well loved in our church for a number of years and has helped numerous people come to understand grace in a new and life changing way.
